First LWI Deep Drill

As the representative for Living Water International (LWI) in Burkina Faso I had the privilege of overseeing their first deep water well project this past weekend. The project was funded by one of their donors who had a ministry contact here for marginalized women and children outside of Ouagadougou. This was actually our second attempt as the first hole we drilled a month ago was dry. God led us to a better place and drilling started around noon on Saturday. Soon we discovered an abundant layer of water at 150 feet deep running on top of granite rock. Then a big rain storm stopped us as God showed us how much water He could deliver! Early Sunday morning we finished the well at a depth of 180 feet. Flow rates measured around 5 cubic meters per hour, strong enough to supply an entire village with water.

Having experienced this well drilling project firsthand, I now know what it takes to put in deep well and the techniques behind it. That knowledge will greatly assist me as I continue to direct national Christians in the rehabilitation of broken down water wells across this country. Thanks be to God for His blessing, and the wonderful drilling team He provided. Thanks also to the donors who made this well possible. In a land desperate for water, this new water well will supply clean water for years to come!
